For the very first time you can learn from the world’s leading expert on how to service the competitive figure skating market. Over the years there have been many who thought they could do it better then someone else but soon learned that they couldn’t. Obviously, those who have tried are no longer in business.
With over 30 years of hands on business experience and an unassuming medical background, Mr. Edge has developed several different training programs for those wishing to enter the business or enhance their current knowledge.
Training sessions last anywhere from 3 days to 1 week in length and carry with it a lifetime of encouragement and support whenever needed.
All training sessions include classroom teaching, hands on workshop, and training manual when applicable. At the end of each session the technician will be given both an oral and written exam, which, he/she is expected to pass before receiving their certificate which will be signed and endorsed by Mr. Edge himself.
The standards may be high, but consider the clientele. Together, we can “Change the Way the World Skates, One Skater at a Time.”
Scheduled Time for Training Sessions
Training sessions will be held in July of each year. The number of students for each class will vary depending on the course. The all inclusive course will consist of only 2 students at any one time.
|Blade Sharpening – 3 days||$3500|
|Boot Prep and Blade Mounting – 3 days||$3500|
|General Boot Repairs – 3 days||$1000|
|Fitting Boots – 3 days||$3500|
|Problem Solving – 3 days||$3500|
|All Inclusive Course – 7 days||$15,000|
The cost of the “All Inclusive Course” includes hotel room for the week, transportation to and from the airport if necessary, transportation to and from the training center, and all meals. It does not include transportation costs from your home to Chicago. Those attending are expected to make travel arrangements to arrive on a Sunday and leave the following Sunday.
Geppetto’s is located about 35 miles due west of downtown Chicago. There is plenty to do in and around the area. However, expect to spend long hours in training with very little down time in between. Class will start at 9 a.m. each morning and end sometime around 8 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday is test day and will start at 9 a.m. and end when you are finished.
Training is not available to anyone currently living within 150 miles of the Chicago metropolitan area. The Chicago market is already over saturated with too many pro-shops and independent skate sharpeners and Mr. Edge feels that he could not guarantee your success or that you would be able to profit from your initial investment.
